The Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone X are here - the worst kept secrets of 2017. While the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus sport a familiar iterative design with a new glass back, the iPhone X is the revolutionary bezel-less phone of the future.
The groundbreaking iPhone X comes with several other new features, such as Face ID, Portrait Mode in front camera, OIS for both the rear cameras and an edge to edge OLED display. On the other hand, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus get wireless charging and True Tone display like the hot sibling iPhone X.
However, there are the things that Apple didn't announce at the event held at Steve Jobs Auditorium, Cupertino.
iPhone 8 has smaller batteries than iPhone 7
Yes, the new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus both come with a smaller capacity battery compared to their respective predecessors. The iPhone 8will have a 1,821mAh battery, compared to the 1,960mAh battery in the iPhone 7. In the case of bigger variant, the iPhone 8 Plus, it will have a 2,675mAh battery, compared to the iPhone 7 Plus' 2,900mAh battery, reports The Verge. However, do keep in mind that this isn't something to be alarmed at, as the new iPhones are powered by the much power efficient A11 Bionic chip.
iPhone X will only identify one face
It seems that the iPhone X will be the most personal iPhone of all time. Apparently, it will only identify one face with its new Face ID technology, confirmed Techcrunch. Face ID supporting just one face makes a lot of sense since unlike with Touch ID, users have only one face to use for their unlocking purposes.
You can temporarily disable FaceID by gripping buttons on both sides
Twitter user Keith Krimbel was a little skeptical about Face ID, as he raised a concern - what will prevent a thief from taking my phone, pointing at my face, and running? He asked this question to no one other than the Apple VP, the man who demonstrated Face ID, Craig Federighi.
However, Mr. Federighi responding to Krimbel's mail, thwarted any fears, saying that if you grip the buttons on both sides of the phone, it will temporarily disable Face ID
The new iPhones support fast charging
Apple announced that the new iPhones will support wireless charging.
