Apple and Samsung are under the investigation of Italy's antitrust organization over the planned obsolescence matter arised some time ago. They are trying to find whether these two popular smartphones manufacturer are using software updates to slow down the older devices to make customers change their smartphones with the newer ones.
There's no mention made by Apple that iOs software make the smartphones speed slow with older batteries. Apple has been already facing criminal problems over this older battery slowdown matter is France and now this Italy investigation started.
According to the Apple CEO, Tim Cook, the next iOs update will give the flexibility to their users to enable/disable the slowdown process of their smartphones due to older batteries.
