Nokia's cheapest Android smartphone launched in India Nokia 1

HMD Global has launched Nokia's entry-level Android smartphone Nokia 1 in India. This Android Oreo Go Edition runs on the mobile OS. It costs Rs 5,499, which can be bought from retail stores.

Google announced the Android Oreo Go edition for developing countries like India in the Google for India event. The feature of this OS is that it works well with smartphones with entry-level hardware specifications. It is specially designed for smartphones up to 1GB of RAM.

Speaking of specifications, Nokia 4.5 has a 4.5-inch FWVGA screen and has been given the 1.1GHz Quad Core MediaTek MT6737M processor. It has 1GB of RAM and has 8GB internal storage. You can extend it up to 128GB via micro SD card. This smartphone runs on Android Oreo (Go Edition) and it will also get a new update in the coming time.

For photography, it has a 5 megapixel autofocus rear camera and it also has LED flash. For the selfie it has a 2 megapixel front camera.

Nokia 1 includes standard features such as 4G VoLTE for connectivity including WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM radio and Micro USB connector. Its battery is 2,150mAh and the company has claimed that it will give 9 hours of talk time and will provide a standby backup of 15 days.

Significantly, Android Go Edition is coming with this smartphone for the first time. It would be interesting to see how users advertise it. Its entire echo system is different. Apps will be new, so expectations from this smartphone are quite large. It is a good thing for Indian smartphone users to get pure Android in this price segment.

Google has already launched Go series apps for this OS. It includes apps like Gagl Go, Maps Go, Assistant Go, and Gmail Go. These apps have been made affordable for cheap entry level smartphones

On the occasion of India's launch of Nokia 1, HMD Global Vice-President (India) has said, "There are 1.3 billion feature phone users worldwide, including Asia and Africa markets. As a market leader in the feature phone, we know what challenges users face from the feature phones and switch to smartphone, and Nokia 1 fits in them. This is not only the cheapest smartphone ever so far but it also ensures the design and quality of the Nokia smartphone, in which the latest Android version is given.
